Corry Girls Soccer

Corry 2- Eisenhower 1

Corry girls soccer team won their first scrimmage of the season 2-1 in an intense battle at Sheen Field.

Corry had a strong start out shooting their opponents 6-0 in the first fifteen minutes of the game.
Hannah Piemme put us on the board first and shortly after Camryn Hooper followed with a goal of her own.
Hooper is back after tearing her ACL last year. Today marks one year since the accident. She didn’t miss a beat and showed us she still has all the same strength she had before the accident.
Martine Utley, Sam Burger and Remington Jensen had outstanding games in the midfield. They hustled hard to every ball and never quit. Their speed showed to be a great advantage to the team.

Lizzie Gordon had ten saves in goal and was solid for our defense as well.

We started the game very strong but you could see that by the second half we were becoming worn out. Old nagging injuries started to flare up and the girls got tired.
Overall though it was a great first game. We had a lot of passing and we look forward to this upcoming season!
