QuickBooks: Level I

If you are new to QuickBooks and ready to learn foundations of the bookkeeping software, this course is for you.  Instructor Bonnie Dundon will introduce you to today’s essential accounting software for small business covering topics such as:  menu functions, general ledger, chart of accounts creation, invoicing and payments, making deposits, writing checks, and more.  This 12-hour course will also include one hour of individual instruction to cover your specific questions and needs.  This course will be held on Monday, May 6 & 13 from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.  Individual one-hour sessions will be scheduled on Monday, May 20.  The cost is $189.  Partial scholarships available.  Registration and payment is required by noon Thursday, May 2.  Call the Hi-Ed at 664-9405.  (Run until 5/2/19)

The Whiskey Rebellion

The Whiskey Rebellion, considered Pennsylvania’s original tax protest, tested the newly formed government of America shortly after it adopted its Constitution.  The objected tax fell hardest on the poor pioneers of our state.  The event that unfolded was the result of miscalculation, short tempers and disrespect of people who lived in the still-wild wilderness.  Presenter Dick Arthur is a graduate of Allegheny College and George Washington University, and a retired military officer.  This free historical lecture will be given on Tuesday, May 7 from 7-9 p.m. Registration is required by noon Thursday, May 2.  Call the Hi-Ed at 664-9405.  (Run until 5/2/19)

ServSafe Food Safety Program for Managers

Penn State Extension is offering a ServSafe Food Safety Program for Managers for those looking to obtain their PDA requirement for food safety certification.  Topics will include: providing safe food, forms of contamination, the safe food handler, preparation and management systems, cleaning and sanitation, as well as safe facilities and pest management.  After attending the ServSafe courses and upon successful completion of a multiple-choice exam, participants will receive their Food Protection Manager Certificate.  This two-day training will be offered on Monday, May 6 & 13 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Corry Higher Education Council.  The cost is $185.  Registration can be completed online at https://extension.psu.edu/servsafe or by phone at 1-877-345-0691.  (Run until 5/4/19)
