The Corry high school girls XC team improved their region record to 4-0

The Corry high school girls XC team improved their region record to 4-0 with victories over Harbor Creek and Youngsville on Tuesday at Corry High School.  Hannah Smrcka continued to impress with a 2nd place finish in a time of 22:14.  Kalista Linden (4th place, 23:49) and Nikki Orton (5th place, 24:09) also ran solid races for the Beavers.  Lexy Hasbrouck (24:42), Elaina Wilkinson (25:20), and Anna Long (25:30) also finished in the top 9 to help lead the team to victory.  The Corry high school boys XC team lost to Harbor Creek 44 to 16 but earned their first victory of the season with a 17 to 43 win over Youngsville.  Skyler Kressler (5th place, 20:14), DJ Stine (7th place, 20:39), and Paul Weber (9th place, 20:51) led the way for the team.  Chase Suchar (12th place, 21:30) and Dustin Seth (13th place, 21:50) rounded out the scoring for the Beavers.  The Corry girls middle school team improved to 3-1 with victories over Harbor Creek and Youngsville.  Seventh grader Haeleigh Bayle narrowly missed her first career victory as she finished in 2nd place with a time of 14:06, just one second behind Leah Bretz of Harbor Creek.  Gwen Adams (3rd place) and Teya Bailey (4th place) also ran well for the Beavers.  Peyton Wilkinson (7th place) and Taylor Moats (9th place) were the final two scoring runners for the team.  The Corry boys middle school team defeated Youngsville but lost to a strong Harbor Creek team 32 – 23.  They now have a 3-1 record in the region.  Stephen Brady (3rd place), Ryan Webb (5th place), Lewis Kuss (6th place), Devin Graham (8th place), and Pierce Sutton (10th place) were the scorers for the boys team.
