NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Edinboro women’s cross country team moved up one spot to 14th in the latest U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Coaches’ Poll, released on Wednesday. The Fighting Scots remain the only team from the PSAC and the Atlantic Region to be ranked or have received votes.
The top five programs from the previous poll did not change in the standings. Adams State was the top-ranked team, followed Western State and Grand Valley State who are tied for second in the country. U-Mary was fourth and Augustana (S.D.) was fifth.
The Fighting Scots also remained the top team in the Atlantic Region rankings, released on Tuesday. The top five teams, all of which are from the PSAC did not change. Edinboro is first and Shippensburg is second. West Chester remained third, Kutztown is fourth and East Stroudsburg rounds out the top five.
Edinboro heads to Chicago on Saturday, September 29 to compete in the Loyola Lakefront Invitational, hosted by Loyola University Chicago. The action gets underway at 12:15 p.m.
